It's Monday and the beginning of a holiday week for many of us all over India. With some extra time on our hands (and kids at home!) we thought you'd might need some ideas if you're thinking about escaping jumping into a new book now.
With such a wonderfully diverse group of contributors, we've asked some of them to share with us which books they've been reading lately and are loving. It's a mix of fiction and non-fiction; new works and old favorites we think you'll enjoy. And at the end of our list an announcement about something new coming in November.
So here are our suggestions to get you started:
And speaking of Daring Greatly... it' such a thought-provoking book that focuses on Brown's research in the areas of vulnerability and shame that we want to know what you think about it. That's why next month we're going to do something different here at IndiAanya-- we're going to have a book club, of sorts, and we want you to join us right where you are!
What this will look like is you'll read the portion assigned and on every Wednesday in November we'll take a chunk of the book and “discuss” right here on the blog. During the first week we'll look at the Introduction and chapter one then go from there. Our readers have a been a little quiet lately, but this book has impacted my thinking so much I would love for you all to read it if you haven't and then huddle up with other ladies (and us!) who are reading along and discuss.
So you need to buy the book, show up on Wednesdays in November then be ready to share your thoughts and insights about what you've read with the rest of us. We're excited about the opportunity to do this as a community!
We hope you're able to take some time this week and slow down with a good book and cup of coffee-- let us know what you've been reading lately and loving in the comments below.

A book club!!! super excited. I was actually looking forward to be a part of a good book club. For all the book lovers, Crazy Busy by De Young would make for an incredible read. Shortest book possible to address a big issue- busyness- with biblical tools.
I promise you'll love Daring Greatly-- glad you're joining us!
I am SO excited about this! By mere coincidence, I happen to have just bought Daring Greatly, though it's been one of those books at the back of my mind almost since it came out. With everything going on in my life right now, I finally thought, "It's time." I'm very glad it looks to be that time for others as well! I gain so much insight and enjoyment from discussing what I'm reading with others, thank yoy Kim and Indiaanya for organizing this. I'm looking forward to it!
Thanks Emily! I'm looking forward to re-reading and digging in a little more. Glad you're joining us!
The one book that has greatly influenced me is 'Let me be a Woman' - by Elizebeth Elliot. I have read it more than 10 times, & have stopped counting now. It says- "to understand what it is to be a woman - we must first start with the one who created us." 'I' is the wrong place to start.
